june 18 evil

I admit to asking them to pose this way. I have contracted the viral crud that my son has been suffering with for almost one month, temp of 101.4 this afternoon. I did next to nothing today including not taking any pictures. I always feel so like I want to take one for pad, really, I've learned so much in doing so.

They don't know that this came from a 17th century temple in Japan. The Nikko Toshogo Shrine, also known as the Sacred Stable, in Japan has a carving of three wise monkeys. Many scholars believe the monkeys were carved as a visual representation of the religious principle, “If we do not hear, see, or speak evil, we ourselves shall be spared all evil."

Mizaru, Kikazuru and Iwazuru. And I thought it's origins were European. Learn something new each day even when evil viruses invade.
