First View of Buster
This was the first image of Buster that we had, taken by an area rescue worker. He didn't look so bad, a bit shaggy perhaps, nothing a bath and brush couldn't fix.

First night in his new home...
When he stepped out of the van he found the nearest bit of grass and relieved himself - it was a very long car ride after all. He sniffed the air and marched right up to my front door.

Sometimes the best thing is a nap...
Well, he met Hudson and Nelson who were waiting behind a baby gate and he nosed George the Cat. It was all way too exciting, too much to process.

Upon Closer Inspection
I picked up Buster in the evening so I didn't get a great look at him. I had scheduled a vet check and grooming schedule for the next morning and in the light of day this is what Buster looked like.
His skin looked fine but the fur has not grown back. According to the animal control people, the owner had indicated that he had been shaved last year because of allergies and it never grew back.

Another view.....
I have him wearing Hudson's old Grateful Dead Dancing Bears collar :-)

He looks very sweet.....
...or he knows he's headed for the vet and groomer :-)

Like the new look?
Buster got a relatively clean bill of health from the vet and he was given a bath and trim. I think he looks pretty spiffy and it looks like Nelson approves too!

Sharing some down-time
Nothing like having a buddy to spend quality time with.

Portrait of Sweetness
Buster is sweet but also quite the character. If no one is giving him any attention (like when we're all watching tv), he'll woof until you go over to see what he wants and he'll roll over so you can rub his tummy. He also sticks close to Hudson and Nelson in the kitchen so he doesn't miss out on any goodies.

The "New" Buster
He looks pretty handsome, doesn't he? I don't think the fur will grow back but I assured him that we could probably do a "comb-over" if he wanted. He has bad knees and probably a bad right elbow so he can't walk too far or too long...but he does like to walk.

Center of it all....
Buster started out watching "Chopped" on the Food Channel with my husband Chuck but you can see here that he was not impressed enough with the contestant's cooking skills, to stay awake.

Who's who?
Hudson is sleeping on the left, Buster sleeping on the right.

Kitchen Basics
You can tell that Buster already knows where the action is in our house.

Who's on top?
Why it's Buster of course! He has discovered Hudson's memory foam bed is the best place for his old bones.

The Gauntlet
I took this with my iPhone...all three boys snoozing with George scampering between them. Buster is at the bottom of the image, Nelson on the left, Hudson at the top.

Oui Oui Buster!
Buster definitely has that insouciant air of the jaunty old Frenchman, especially after I put the red beret on his little head.
He turned 11 years old on the day these were taken.

Dinner with the boys...
(L-R) Buster, Nelson, and Hudson
Buster knows the routine now and is just one of the boys.

Oldest Newf At The Party
Buster attended the July GLNC Meeting & Picnic and he won a much deserved medal for being the oldest Newf in attendance. I think he enjoyed himself!
