Buster was an 11-year old Newf who was surrendered by his owner to the Isabella County, Michigan, animal shelter. Through word-of-mouth and luck, his situation became known to NCA Rescue and I agreed to foster the old boy.

I guess my imagination is too vivid - I imagined him sitting in a comfortless run, bewildered, maybe frightened, by the noise and strangeness of the place, wondering when his owner would come back for him....heartbreaking right?

With help from a fellow GLNC member who drove 2 hours to get him to me, Buster became a part of our family on February 29th, 2012. Although he wasn't exactly a mess, he was rather pathetic looking, as you will see.

Buster became desperately ill suddenly in August and it was best to let him go. I was out of state at the time but he was in the care of a very dear, Newfie-loving friend so he was surrounded by fellow Newf owners and Hudson and Nelson.

He was a very dear Newf and we still miss him.
