Chuck and I had a wonderful time in Alaska this June, thanks to an invitation from Bob Prudhome to join him, his wife Dottie, and their friends Chris and Nancy Pullen, on this fishing extravaganza. Chuck and I arrived a few days earlier and spent some time just outside of Anchorage at the Hotel Alyeska resort in Girdwood. Fine dining and fine hiking made the stay here memorable. Our stay at the Crooked Creek Fishing Retreat in Kasilof was exceptionally comfortable and made especially so by the remarkable and gracious Dorothy, proprietor and her lively, well-behaved Newf-mix Clyde. My only disappointment was that I did not see any bears up-close...but then again, that's probably a good thing!
