March 20

This eagle was injured and is now unable to fly well enough to survive in the wild.
But now he's safe and secure and well fed at the
National Eagle Center in Wabasha, Minnesota.

Really beautiful close up it's good to know he's safe.
A águia é o símbolo do grande clube de futebol (soccer) - Sport Lisboa e Benfica - from Lisbon and my club - twice Eurpean Champion in the sixties and champion 2013/14 and 2014/15 - 34 times champion in Portugal!!! there's a live eagle in the club and everytime the team plays home the eagle is launched into the field it is a really beautiful sight to see the eagle flying around the stadium over the crowd with the ribbons red and white the colours of Benfica.

Too bad about his injuries but he's obviously thriving. That's one regal looking eagle. A beautiful close up.

A gorgeous image of our national emblem. The last time I was in Wabasha to photograph eagles was over 30 years ago. Hopefully I can return some day.
