Photos are of my trip to Kansas on Friday April 15, which was a bad weather day. Winds reaching over 70 mph across Western Kansas, broke railroad crossings, and rolled a number of semi trucks over. Arrived in Lindborg, KS ok and stayed over there. Headed up to Abilene, KS on Saturday, to join up with No Surf (Jay) and the HAMB guys for a great breakfast at Sweet Daddies (a 50s restaurant there),then a drive over to the Eisenhower Presidential Library with his boyhood home. SO much history on World War II is on display and the early days of the Cold War. Afterwards, we all went out to No Surf's farm for a day of bbq, an evening trip to Kuntz's Drive-In, in downtown Abilene, for ice cream and shakes, and some of us camped out overnite. Watched movies on the side of his barn that night. Was a great HAMB event. Some Abilene railroad photos the next day, as leaving. Then the next day, a stop at the Apploosa Acres in Great Bend, Kansas to check out the burros, and then last, a few evening photos of the famous Blue Swallow Motel (just rehab'd and opened this spring) on Old Route 66 in Tucumcari, New Mexico.
A few photos to be eventually added yet......soon. Select "original" below the first photo display to get full size, then rest should display on full.
