We saw tons of animals this year and got probably a little to close to a herd of bison who just happened to cross the Yellowstone River right in front of us while we took shelter on a big boulder.
Then there was Fred, Fred is a Brown Trout, that lives in Lake Solitude and who has a taste for horse flies. When we hiked to Lake Solitude the horse flies were all over the place. It just so happens that if you let a Horse Fly almost bite you, a quick swat renders it dead. I was taking pictures of the lake and killing flies when I got the great idea to see if the fish would eat them. I threw one in and Fred came right up and grabbed it. So I got my camera out to see if I could capture this. It was great fun killing flies feeding them to Fred, It kept my Father and I entertained for an hour, easy. Check out the images below of Fred munching on horse flies.
