A memory of when I was beekeeping in the Olympic Mountains.

RAINIER SUNSET

On eastern slopes of the Olympic Mountains
drive 4,000 ft up twisting rutted rain-gullied tracks
of long-disused logging roads
to a small flat place – an old logging truck turnaround.

There, the ghost of a long-vanished bee yard.
There, memories of beekeepers and fireweed
and a million bees at a long day’s end.

There, look east over Lilliwaup, Dewatto,
Hood Canal and South Sound,
to watch the fading velvet mountain light.

A moving image. Your attention is all on the tree, and then you suddenly become aware of Mt Ranier shimmering in the background.

there is certainly a buzz on the horizon...cool to include the tree, especially to convey a dense of space in the scene..

You and the bees were on top of the world (perhaps metaphorically as well).
