Guerrilla gardening.
Carry a packet of sunflower seeds with you on your walk.
Plant a seed or two wherever you can (maybe not in someone's yard...except your own!)
Take the same walk a couple of months from now.
If nothing comes up, some bird or squirrel had a lucky day.
