to the left, the fast rippled puyallup river, its sources are the puyallup and tahoma glaciers on the west side of mt rainier. to the right, the placid flow of the white river that winds far from the east side of mt rainier and emmons glacier.

you can get a feel for the size of the river by the figure on the very left just over half way up. this is a time i'd have liked to have a wide angle lens! the nearby fisherman was casting to each river, but soon gave up, with fish staying well away from his hook.
