The Carbon river originates from the Carbon Glacier on the north side of Mt. Rainier. The first part of the river flows through Mt Rainier National Park, with protected temperate rain forest on the west side. The river then passes through the Mt. Baker/Snoqualmie National Forest, joining the Puyallup River in Orting. This gallery is both inside and outside the area near the entrance to the National Park.
