The Castle was built between 1098 and 1101. All that remains of a vast Norman Castle is part of the keep, which leans at 15 degrees as a result of an attempted demolition after the Civil War.

Hard to line up a photo like that. Even head stones can lean. I just can't wrap my head around that long ago! Its so surreal. Great gallery. Linda S
