To Johnny Villaronga,
Your wildlife photos are execellent. You make me tempting to shoot more animals now.

You left a message in my gallery in March, sorry that I haven't checked for ages.
I found that the Sigma 120-300 f/2.8 is verty good, but I found that tripod is always essential for me. Without tripod (or at least monopod), my result is poor probably my arm is not very string to support it. I use Gizto 1227 and Manfotto gimbal head. , they work very well together. Highly recommamnd.

Congratulations on your bird gallery!
I see that you used the 120-300 2.8 from Sigma.
How you like the lense so far?
Any of these shots taken with tripod?
Do you shoot without the 2X?
Im thinking of getting this lense, can you please let me know your opinion about it?

Thanks, Johnny V.

Yes, I use D70.

I have six lenses. Use three of them for birds mainly.
Nikon 70-300 ED, not very successful. Seldom use now.
Nikon 70-200 f/2.8 VR. Use with Nikon 1.4TC most of the time. With the limited reach, only use it to shoot bigger birds and duck etc.

My favourite combo, Sigma 120-300mm f/2.8 plus Sigma 2xTC. Used on 90% of my small birds photo. A very good balance on price, portability and performance.

E.g. Nikon 600mm prime is too expensive and too big.
Nikon 70-300, performance too poor for small birds.

I also have : Nikon 50mm f/1.8, Sigma 105mm f/2.8 macro, and Nikon 18-70mm. I like all of them especially the two prime lense.
I use the 50 f/1.8 most, as my home is not very big, it's focal length suit indoor portrait, and this f/1.8 prime lens performance is execellent. Extremely good value, in my opinion, a must buy item.

What I am missing is a 12mm wide angle zoom.

Good luck and hope you enjoy the D70.

Thanks for looking my gallery.

Dear KC,
As you are using the D-70 what lenses are you using?
I am thinking seriously of moving from a CP5700 and multiple accessories to the D-70.
