Neat shot with the smoke trailing off the edges of the wings.

This warms the old heart. I saw the last of these go throgh the assembly lines. I believe it was in Columbus where I hired in at North American. Not for sure because 9 months after I hired in I transferred to NAA in Inglewood, CA. I worked in building test equipment for the F86 and then the F100. The final assembly line was just below the mezzenine where my work bench backed up to a railing and I could look directly down on the assembly line. That was in the early 50's. In 1955 I transferred to Anaheim, CA where our specialty was the Inertial guidance system for Minuteman ICBM and later the Ships Inertial Navigation System (SINS) which enables the A-Subs to stay submerged without surfacig to take a star shot to obtain azimuth and declination needed to get there location.
