I got this image in my wife's flower garden. The single white crocus from the top was issolated and kind of pathetic looking. But that issolation is exactly what allowed me to get in all close and personal to get this image. I was shooting in falling rain. I could typically get three or four shots in before I would have to head inside to towel the camera off. The lesson I learned on this day of shooting is that even on overcast days, the location of the sun matters a lot. The overblown highlight at the top of the white crocus is caused by the sun being directly overhead. If I shot it perhaps one and a half hours earlier, the scene would have been more front lit and I believe I would have a better capture with higher saturation of the purple towards the bottom. Lesson learned.
