First used shadow/contrast tool to lighten the children's faces, then curves to do a little more. Added saturation, but desaturated the faces with the sponge tool, as they went completely red. Then I created a duplicate layer, changed the blend mode to multiply, erased the kids from the top layer, and touched up the top layer saturation and levels.
