Our downtown is called Old Town. Our city was chartered in 1749 and was once the second busiest seaport in America after Boston. These buildings were warehouses for the shipments coming from Europe. Today, they are restaurants and shops similar to Georgetown in Washington, DC, which is up the Potomac River about 8-10 miles.
