Part of the display at the museum in Bonham shows the Associated Press teletype (how we used to get our news - it was sent by wire to the newspapers and television/radio stations so that they could print it or put it on the news broadcasts) Not instant social media as today
Also displayed in the background some of the old telephones and switchboard. You used to pick up the phone dial O and the operator would connect your line to the person you wanted to speak to. Again no instant by microwave communications that we have today.
