St Landry Parish - Washington - Magnolia Ridge

Magnolia Ridge is located just outside of Washington Louisiana. The house sits on 60 acres of hiking trails adjacent. The trails are open to the public but the house is a private residence and not open.

The home was built in the 1820's. On the property there are several magnificent oak trees including one member of the Live Oak Society

Was called starvation point because travelers from the north bypassed bayou courtableau accidentally, and took tributary smaller bayous ending up at this plantation with no supplies. By this point they were starving, hence the name starvation point. From there they were directed on how to get back to bayou courtableau.
