Bluebonnets are the State Flower of Texas..... BUT maybe Texas should re-consider Indian Blanket. Bluebonnets are nice, don't misunderstand me, but they have a shorter bloom period, and they are not nearly as prolific as Indian Blanket.

The roadside is covered with them, as are the adjacent fields. We have several patches growing wild around the house.
