Susan's Cottages is a bed and breakfast located about 6 miles west of Alexandria Louisiana on La highway 496 (Bayou Rapides Road). From Alexandria, if you follow LA 496, you will pass Kent House State Commemorative Area, England AirPark (the former air base), and Tyrone Plantation.

It is a lovely drive, however the road is very curvy taking one past cotton fields, beautiful new homes and old plantations.

Susan's is a fairly new place, located on the side of Bayou Rapides. There are three cottages.

A few days before our visit, the area experienced a heavy rainfall, which brought the usually slow moving Bayou Rapides up and out of it's normal banks. We had a wonderful, relaxing, quiet, and romantic weekend and would HIGHLY RECCOMMEND Susan's.
