We took a short "vacation" this year. We are somewhat moved into OUR house, and both needed a rest. We looked at several alternates, and decided to go back to Arkansas.
If you have never "dug" for diamonds, it is an adventure. Don't go in the heat of summertime.
Magazine Mountain is beautiful any time of the year. If at all possible, stay in the Lodge. It is a little pricy - not a budget inn - but the view both day and night is worth the money. And the food is awesome.
Mountain View is another place that is tourist driven. Arkansas Parks has a facility there showing the Ozark culture and music, but the main attraction is Blanchard Springs and the cavern. It is a Forest Service unit with several tours of these beautiful caverns.
