Sewing Etui

The etui is a Victorian style sewing box. By lifting the box lid, the sides unfold like an opening flower. Inside are more unfolding petals holding a variety of hand sewing needles and sewing tools. Based on the Chinese concept of a box within a box. Etuis were first made by soldiers and seamen in the 19th century. These were made by Taylor Smith, March 2002.
