GREAT GREEN BUSH-CRICKET TETTIGONIA VIRIDISSIMA GRANDE SAUTERELLE VERTE
This cricket is one of the largest and can be up to 3-4 cm long with antennae reaching 5 cm long.
The long antennae are typical of the bush-crickets of family Tettigoniidae, different from the grasshoppers of family Caelifera.
This is the male. It is able to escape by using its powerful hind legs, but also by flying, thanks to the fully developed wings.
It may fly some hundreds metres.
This species can be found throughout Europe and Asia, except in cold areas and mountains.
This one was hidden among the foliage of a green plant, and almost invisible.
