Segovia is one of the oldest Spanish cities. Built on rocky promontory amongst rufous coloured valleys, the city includes several beautiful monuments which are reminiscent of the splendours of the past of one of the most important and rich Spanish cities.

The superb Roman aqueduct includes 138 arches over 813 metres length and 28, 50 metres height. The blocks of granite are put down without any mortar or cement. The slope is about one degree.
Several arches were destroyed in the 11th century, when the city was caught by the Moors, and rebuilt in the late 15th century.

The cathedral is an example of the survival of the Gothic in the 16th century, but it is necessary to add the conception of space, lighting and volumes, closely associated to the Renaissance style.

Today, Segovia is almost the same. Numerous tourists visit this beautiful place, as well for the superb monuments, as for its famous Spanish gastronomy.
