This species is pelagic and migrates mainly on oceanic routes, coming from its northern breeding areas in arctic regions of Eurasia and North America.
Maybe pushed by strong winds, this small shorebird is currently making a stopover in the inland wetlands of SW France, with other shorebirds.
This bird is currently in winter plumage.
