At the end of Jan, and the beginning of Feb 2004, I went on a 20-day Antarctic cruise starting at the port of Ushuaia (Tierra del Fuego) then stopping for a few days at the Falkland Islands, before sailing on the Southern Ocean to South Georgia and on to the Antarctic Peninsula, then back to Ushuaia.

As you can imagine there is tremendous amount of wildlife to see and photograph on a trip like this. When we stopped at the different Islands along the way, the penguins (including Gentoo, Chinstrap, King and Rockhopper) would come over to have a look at you, sometimes getting so close that I could not focus the camera. Other wildlife on the land included fur seals, Elephant Seals, Sea Lions and Albatross etc. There was also a lot to photograph at sea as well, including Crabeater and Leopard Seals on the Icebergs, and Orca, Fin and Minke Whales around the ship.

I can say without a doubt, this is one of the best trips I have been on so far.
