The Caldera de Taburiente
The view looking over the drop down towards the Caldera de Taburiente. The visibility was quite poor on this day, presumably due to the dust from the Sahara in the atmosphere.

Me by the prime focus camera of the 2.5 metre Isaac Newton Telescope. Originally situated at Herstmonceux Castle, Sussex,the scope was shipped to La Palma in 1979 to escape the lousy British weather!

Me and the C14
Me and the C14 set up in the back yard of the residence. The 10.4 metre Gran Telescopio Canarias is in the background. Shortly after this we moved the scope to a more convenient (and sheltered) location on the veranda to the rear of my apartment.

Sunset
The view from the front of my apartment. There were a few high clouds around on the 12th August that interfered with astronomical viewing during the beginning of the night. However, the clouds helped produce a magnificent sunset!
