Ray's right. The ones I got of London yesterday(with mandatory blurred red bus) were taken handheld, though that being said a decent tripod comes a close second after good lenses as investment priorities. Oh yeah, the photograph; it's terrific. The angle of centre point compliments the blur so well, adding to the sense of giddy disorientation created by the city.

I like the 'rush' that this portrays - sometimes a tripod is not necessary to convey the spirit of your intention. I have a tripod (plus a table top one) but have yet to use it up in London, as it would be too much hassle during the rest of the day. I'll have to go on a dedicated night mission with it!
