Bath is a section of Virgin Gorda in the British Virgin Island. There are huge rocks formation here, where one's can explore, crawl, climb, and dive off. The whole island is pretty deserted, and can only be reached by ferry or organized boat trips from all the VI. St. John is probably the most beautiful island next to St. Thomas. You can stay on either islands and take a day boat trip to Virgin Gorda (ie Bath) or the other British Virgin Islands. St Croix is more developed and too far out for most day trip in my opinion and cruise ships do not stop there anymore, hence the economy there is quite sad. If you stay in St Thomas or St John you can easily commute between the two since there's a passenger ferry every fifteen minute, and a car ferry every 1/2 hour. It all depends on your lifestyle, and if you plan on renting a car or not. Cruz Bay is St John only main center and everything here is within walking distance, or you can take a taxi to further out beaches like Trunk Bay. Charlotte Amalie is St Thomas main center and this is where all the cruise ships dock, but there's also Red Hook and other business centers. There's more restaurants and activities here than one can shake a stick @, but you'll need a car or taxi to take you anywhere... even to the ferry! I prefer St Thomas since I've been there many times, and do day trips to St John. However; St John is usually where newlyweds stay... (ie if you like CASTAWAY... the movie) Have fun!

The pictures titled "bath" are gorgeous!!! My fiance and I have been looking all over the place to have a beach wedding next May (2003). We have been considering St. Croix, but I am not real happy with the limited amount of beach pictures I have seen. There really is no feeback from anyone that I can find, to give a true "review" if you will, of the local beaches. Could you tell me where specifically this "bath" beach is? Thanks.

Thanks Peter It definetly is a lovely place. We've been to several islands in the carribean and the USVIs are always the ones we came back to, especially for the local folks !!! You have a nice site too. I'll try to update my 990 gallery since that where I've taken the most shots previously (and underwater as well)
