Well of course this isn't the best photo ever. It was getting quite dark and this guy was a couple hundred feet up or so. Still my best photo of a Nighthawk as I pumped up the shutter speed and manually focused on him. I had no idea if I even got any shots of them. Tons of 'noise' and ugly reddishness in the photo as the ISO was 800. I could have tried 1600, but it was even dark for that. Look at the small or medium version of the pic. But this was one of my favorite nights of the summer birding. So desolate out there and amazing listening to the loud boom their wings make.
