The mast off 10th Street in Barnegat Light is from the fomer fishing boat Sea King. It was beached in 1963 and was mainly a clamming boat from Staten Island. It was apparently towing a a US Gov't Minesweeper to New York for refurbishing when both went aground just south of the Barnegat Inlet. The minesweeper apparently was safely towed from the water. Salvage efforts for the Sea King worked temporarily but she just couldn't be freed before the sand and the tides claimed her.
