On 3rd March 2005 it was the 2nd Annual President's Choice Ski day.
We were at the Ostler Bluff Ski Club, which is a private club, very exclusive (it is the club our CEO belongs to!).
It was the best snow conditions for many years! They had groomed the piste the night before but then another several inches of beautiful soft fluffy snow had fallen overnight.
After spending the morning getting as many runs in as we could, at 2pm we had a team Grand Slalom race. Oh my! How steep it was, and how close the red and blue gates were! We had two tries and the best one was put in. My first one was not too bad, 33 seconds. But my second one – what a wipeout! I fell on the first gate, sort of did a head over heels, landed back on my skis again to great cheers behind me, but then didn’t manage to stay upright and went splat – straight on my face, skis facing opposite directions! I was so tangled up I had to release one binding to be able to get myself sorted out again. I got back up, put on my ski and made it to the bottom amidst great cheers. Hmm thought I might get the best wipeout award, but apparently there wasn’t one.

Woo hoo all this piste just for me!
Waiting for my turn down the Grand Slalom

It was a bit misty to begin with
But when the sun came out the view over the lake was just beautiful
