Arunachal Pradesh, India, Apatani Tribe

Arunachal Pradesh, one of the "Seven Sisters", in Northeast India is a remote area with a rich tribal culture. Traditions are still inherent in daily life. One of the ethnologically most interesting tribes are the Apatanis (or Apa Tani). They are especially famous for the womenīs big noseplugs, something that in former times should prevent the women from being kidnapped by men from other tribes.
