If you love open sport cars, it will be your regret if you have not driven a Mazda MX-5 (Also known as Eunos Roadster in Japan and Mazda Miata in the state).
Exaggerated? I certainly believe not. Mazda may not build the best car but I truely agree they are very innovative in making cars. In late 80s where no one thinks there will be a market for small engine open sports. Here comes the MX5 from Mazda. MX5 stormed the world with the evidence from its sales figures. And it makes benchmark in motoring history for open sports car. SLK, Z3, Boxster, MRS and S2000 are just a few open sports which follow the success of MX5. Innovators make history, not following it.
You must think I like this Eunos Roadster (Japanese Version) the moment I get the Keys of her. As a matter of fact it is the reverse. I don't feel comfortable driving the Roadster due to her higher than normal noise and vibration, and lower than normal space, comfort and "refinement". U feel even worse than sitting on a cheap Japanese small cars driving it except for the Roadster's great handling and razor sharp steering. Later on I find out it is the intention of Roadster development team. They want to remind you of the "raw" Roadster of the 70's. Inside the "raw" taste, they insert the Japanese famous reliability issue to this "modern" Roadster. Making the Mazda Roadster one of a kind. In modern refined cars, you will not feel the vibration from the engine. You will not hear the roar from the engine and road tyres. You will not feel the road through the steering wheel. In Eunos Roadster, you have it all. She brings us back the real joy feeling of MOTORING.
