This gallery contains photos shot at ISO1600 or ISO3200. The Canon CMOS sensors produce remarkable images at those ISO values.

Many of those events I photographed were held indoors where the use of flash may be discouraged or disallowed. Sometimes it is important to incorporate the ambient light even if the flash can be used. These situations call for the high ISO values to be used.
