Four Jaw Chuck and Cutter On An Ancient Engine Lathe

I was excited to see this in an old factory that was used for exhibits. It was very much like the one I used at high school, Brooklyn, NY in 1946.

Sony Alpha α7R II
1/60s f/2.8 at 55.0mm iso3200 full exif

other sizes: small medium large original auto

Well shown in monochrome. A heavy duty tool!

The image looks more like a piece of art rather than specialized machinery.....well composed with balanced hues and highlights...V

A great find and treasure. Your composition and toning convey the nostalgia so well.

I enjoy seeing shot of mechanical objects and this is a neat one. Love the tones and limited DOF.

A nice monochrome Engine Lathe with tool post and cutting bit .the dial indicators are probably in the bottom tray for centering the work when needed.
Nice presentation and detail.

Very nice... I still have a small metal working lathe and a large wood working lathe

Like the tones and textures and the wide aperture. "V"
