The Prelude

I thought this more dramatic than the previous one in color. When I switch back to the color version I'm ambivilent. I ask the viewer's opinion. We were a bit nervous since this was Tornado Season.

OK I really prefer the black and white version. The tones are incredible and there is not color in the land to distract from the drama in the sky. I also like how much space you devoted to the menacing clouds in the comp.

the B&W cuts to the chase. VV!

Fantastic moody scene, great in mono.

I'd give the nod to the B&W, something about the mood it conveys and very effectively at that.

What a beautiful and dramatic composition in b&w. V.

I like both, but this time I prefer the colour version. You are right to worry about tornadoes. I was just reading about the tornado that hit the city of Munroe. V

the B&W version has more drama and immediacy to it because the viewers concentration goes directly to the sky. Maybe bump up contrasts etc. to increase the textures of the clouds. "V"

Perfect as a monochrome capturing a foreboding mood while also displaying nature's beauty of this moment. The road on the right invites the viewer's imagination to venture into the vastness of this landscape and location. A road worth traveling. VVV

This one definitely has a more threatening feel to it. I'm wondering if you bumped up the contrast on the color one if it would have the same feel. Although I do like the softer feel and colors on the other one the way it is.

I like this B&W version Neil... but might only be because it's darker and looks more threatening

Well I'm a man who loves colors but I must admit this one in B&W is better because of the sky, more contrasted and dramatic. V.

They are both nice images but this one makes the approaching storm more ominous looking. I hope you don't get any tornadoes. That's the last thing you need right now..

easy to be ambivalent...the B&W version better articulates the elements, and heightens the tension precipitated by the storm clouds...while the colour version offers a more idyllic view of the countryside..

nice images both of them, but I too prefer the color version.

Both good, but I prefer the colour.
