In the little town where I grew up the cafe down on Main street had a big round table. All the old timers, business people, their families, out of town guests, and the occasional stranger would sit there. Sometimes there would be three generations sitting there along with the rest of the mix of people. Prime time was breakfast and lunch. The round table was like our town square. You could meet anyone if you sat there. The greatest place I have ever sat a watched people express opposing opinions very loudly. Then these same people would be talking about their kids or doing business the next morning, it was great! I showed up one time and my mother was sitting between the Lt Governor and a U.S Senator drinking coffee and telling jokes. It didn’t seem all that strange at the time … It was at the round table so maybe it wasn’t.
Cool shot of something that every town should have one of - A round table! BV
