The 50th anniversary of the worst air crash in Kansas history. A KC 135 Tanker containing 30,000 pounds of jet fuel crashed on this black neighborhood destroying virtually everything and every one.
There was basically no national news and some distant relatives never heard how their family members died. It took 22 years to acknowledge it with this memorial. I attended a lecture yesterday by the author of the only book written about it.
