Darkened doorway

I am trying something that I learned from looking at Jeff Real's dramatic images. HIS show a a mood and drama. Mine might be portrayed as just too dark. Opinion please

This image has a more ominous look than the previous one. If you needed an image in a story you were writing about a dark mystery I would go with this one. This shot definitely gives you the feeling of, "Maybe I shouldn't go see what is behind that door."

this darker version is more potent. particularly in the lighter grey areas...the stronger contrast also serves to increase the sense of immediacy..V

I love this one, Neil! As beautiful as the previous image is there is a looming presence here that stays with me. The little details take on a totally different feeling. The crack in the step takes on an ominous note and the door knocker seems like something you would want to think twice about lifting.
