Above all, I want the photo session to be fun and relaxing. The goal of the session is to capture your unique personality, therefore I avoid stiff and formal posing. Most of the shoots are on location using natural light creating a set of portraits as unique as every customer. I also allow ample time for breaks, this is important as the little ones can get easily bored or tired. Following are some useful tips to help you prepare for the portrait session.
Time of day
Early morning and late evening (30-60 minutes after sunrise or before sunset) are the best times. Mornings seem to work better with small children since they are well rested.
Clothing
Dark solid colors (blue, brown, black) or light colors (white, beige) work well. Try to avoid bright colors such as red, yellow, etc as well as prints, stripes, etc as they distract attention from your face and do not produce as pleasing of a portrait. Group portraits often look good with all people dressed the same, eliminating the clothing as a distraction.
Small Kids
It is a good idea to bring a "clean" snack for your kids, and maybe one of their favorite toys to play with just in case they need a break. Often times the best photos are candids of the little ones just doing their thing.
Proofs
Several days after the portrait session I will load your proof in my Proofs gallery. You can then take your time to review them and pick which you would like enlarged. Once you have made your selections I will provide you with a total. Please visit the Products section for Pricing. Once I receive the payment I will send the prints to the lab. It usually takes 1-2 weeks to deliver your prints after receiving payment.
Our Guarantee
If for any reason you are not completely satisfied with the portraits I will gladly re-take the portraits or fully refund your money. If you are not happy with the portraits there is no reason you should pay for them, I will however keep the prints.
