Denmark's Wild West

The west coast of Jutland (Jylland) has a special wild beauty to it. The old Skagen painters made it known by portraying its unique light on canvas. This gallery takes a somewhat natural historical perspective, in particular due to the presence of large numbers of Barnacle Geese. The birds shown in the gallery are mainly Sanderling (the small waders), Barnacle Geese (with black and white markings), and Herring Gulls (hovering over the waves).
