as you take a closer look inside the nest you will note that the mate's beak is visible.These parents were quite punctual and would take turns every hour to keep the eggs warm and safe from other predators.

A very nice Pileated Woodpecker at the nesting sight with the other inside keeping the eggs warm. Glad you mentioned the beak. This woodpecker is not an easy one to find and photograph you did good. Vote
