I am from southern Illinois and it is pretty here. I was a travel nurse and absolutely had to go to northern Virginia around the 4th of July one year. My dream spot. I went through Harrisonburg and traveled on a highway that went by the Shenandoah Valley and it took my breath away. Everything was so green and beautiful. The state of West Virginia and Virginia made such an impact on me. I so want to go back. The people are very nice and I feel like I am at home. In some states you travel you feel like a foreigner in a foreign land. But these states I feel like I have come home. But the only thing holding me back is that it is so far from home and my parents are getting older. As I get older I realize that family is important.

You are right about the Shenandoah valley. It is paradise. I visit the trout streams there whenever possible, though not often enough since it is hours away from my domicile. Lovely pictures.
