River Ayr Way Ayrshire Scotland - Feb '08

Ayr campus walking group met once again on Sunday 24th February. The weather was cold with only a couple of short rain showers. The destination was Mauchline to follow part of the River Ayr Way to Ballochmyle Viaduct. The viaduct has one of the tallest spans in Europe and the Hollywood movie Mission Impossible actually filmed a scene from the impressive structure! Other interests include cup & ring markings which date between the Neolithic and early Bronze age.
