The Contoocook Railroad bridge was originally built in 1850 with major reconstruction completed in 1889 in
Contoocook, New Hampshire. It is 140'1" long with and overall width of 21"6" and a maximum vertical clearance
of 19'4". From 1962 until 1990 the bridge was owned by a merchant who used it as a warehouse. The bridge was
restored in 1995 and is now a pedestrian bridge. It is considered the oldest covered railroad bridge still standing
in the United States. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
