Coming in to Kotor through the beautiful fiords with their storybook villages was breathtaking. Before exploring Kotor we took a side trip to Budva, a seaside resort that is one of the oldest settlements in the Balkans. Kotor is a walled medieval city that has withstood countless sieges over the centuries. Outside the city walls is a wall going up the hillside above to a fortress on top.
