Here is a view of our faux ceiling beams. We did not paint the ceiling because we may be taking it down in the fall in order to insulate above it. There is minimal insulation up there now, and no room for more. If we bring the ceiling down even a foot, it more than doubles our insulation. The family room cooks in the summer. We also plan on a ceiling fan.
