The range is just out of the picture in the foreground. The dishwasher is straight ahead. In the new kitchen, the sink will probably not be centered under the window. It is too much of a waste of space to put in the spacers needed to center it. It would mean leaving out another cabinet. Again, on this side, the soffits will be redone to give the floor-to-ceiling cabs a built-in look. There is a corner cabinet that was a double oven cab in its first life.. Now it will house the dishwasher, with the microwave above it. A drawer below the DW and a cabinet above the microwave are part of the unit and will give a built-in look. To the left of the corner DW and micro cabinet will be the big 36" pantry. To the left of the pantry will be a desk area made out of an 18" three-drawer cabinet, then a 30" drawer below the laminate counter, then a 26" cabinet. This whole space has a height of 30 inches, like a normal desk or table would. There will be a full wall behind the corner cab and the pantry. The wall will be about 36" tall behind the desk in order to allow for 6" above the desk surface for electrical outlets.
